Insurance & Payment
Do you take insurance?
Mind Matters is a private-pay practice. Oftentimes, health insurance companies limit the amount of time allocated for an evaluation. We do not bill insurance directly, which lets us spend more time on care and less on administrative gatekeeping. We provide detailed superbills for out-of-network reimbursement.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards (with a 3% processing fee), debit cards, HSA/FSA cards, and ACH transfer. Payment plans may be available — please ask during your intake call.
What is a superbill and how do I submit it?
A superbill is an itemized receipt with the diagnostic and procedure codes your insurer needs to process an out-of-network claim. We provide it after services are rendered. You submit it to your insurer (usually via their member portal or mobile app) and any reimbursement is paid directly to you.
What is the cost of an evaluation?

About Dr. Zaccariello
What qualifies you to diagnose my child?
Dr. Zaccariello is a licensed psychologist (LP) and board-certified clinical neuropsychologist (ABPP) with close to two decades of experience evaluating and treating children and adults and over 30 years of experience and training in the mental health field. He is the only community-based, board-certified neuropsychologist serving Southeast Minnesota and the surrounding areas.
What does "board-certified neuropsychologist" mean?
Board certification through the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP) is the field's highest credential. It requires specialized graduate school coursework, post-doctoral specialty training, peer-reviewed work samples, and an oral examination — confirming advanced expertise in clinical neuropsychology.
How do I know if my child needs to see you?
If your child is struggling academically, socially, or emotionally and you don't have a clear explanation — or if a prior diagnosis doesn't fully fit — an evaluation can give you the clarity to move forward. When in doubt, request a consultation and we'll help you decide if we're the right fit.
Privacy & Confidentiality
Is what we discuss confidential?
All staff at Mind Matters are mandated reporters. If you disclose an imminent and specific threat to harm yourself or others, we are mandated by law to notify the appropriate authorities and protect your safety and others. Other situations where we are mandated to report is in cases of child or elder abuse or neglect. Otherwise, your information is completely confidential. Information can only be released with your written permission.
